We believe clearer thinking is a learnable skill.
Clearmind Collective is a non-profit organization translating decades of cognitive behavioral research into resources anyone can use — and everyone can afford.
Our story
Clearmind Collective started with a simple observation: the techniques that work in cognitive behavioral therapy — noticing distortions, examining evidence, reframing with care — are not secrets. They've been studied for fifty years. They've helped millions of people. And yet most people will never see them, because therapy is expensive, waitlists are long, and the existing self-help material is either overwhelming or oversimplified.
We thought there should be a place that took this work seriously: scientifically grounded, clinically reviewed, free to access, and written with the warmth that someone in distress actually needs. So we built it.
We are not a substitute for therapy. We are a starting point — for the person who isn't ready, who can't afford it yet, or who is in therapy and wants something to read between sessions. The goal is to make the language of cognitive science feel like a friend instead of a textbook.
What we do
Our work falls into three areas:
- Educational content — clear, clinically reviewed pages on the cognitive distortions and the skills for working with them.
- Practical tools — worksheets, thought records, and exercises adapted from clinical practice for everyday use.
- Connections to care — every page we publish points toward professional help for those who need more than education alone.
Four principles that shape everything.
Science first
Every claim we make traces back to peer-reviewed research. When the evidence is contested, we say so. When we don't know, we say that too.
Compassion always
Distress is not a character flaw. Cognitive distortions are not failures of will. We write the way we'd want a thoughtful friend to write to us on a hard day.
Free, forever
No paywalls, no ads, no upsells. The work is funded by donations and grants because we believe access to evidence-based mental health information should not depend on income.
Pointing onward
We are educational. We are not therapy. Every resource on this site includes clear guidance on when professional help is the better next step.
The people who review every word.
Every piece of educational content on this site is reviewed by at least one licensed mental health clinician before publication. These are the practitioners who keep us honest.

Five commitments we keep.
-
01.
Clinical review before publication No educational page goes live without review by at least one licensed mental health clinician. Reviewers' names and credentials appear on every page they review.
-
02.
Cited sources Every claim about psychology, neuroscience, or clinical practice is tied to a peer-reviewed source listed at the bottom of the page.
-
03.
No medical advice We do not diagnose. We do not recommend medications or dosages. We do not replace professional care. Every page that touches a clinical topic includes guidance on when to seek a clinician.
-
04.
Updates when evidence changes Each page shows its last review date. When new evidence shifts our understanding of a topic, we update — and note what changed.
-
05.
Reader-supported, not advertiser-supported We accept no advertising, no affiliate commissions, and no funding that creates editorial conflicts of interest. Our financials are published annually.
